Match Reports:
RIVERSIDE vs WEST INDIAN @ KENEY PARK 5/10/09 (LEAGUE):   West Indian won the toss and sent Riverside to bat under typical English conditions. Their decision proved to be correct when Raul had the ball swinging big and found Vinay trapped lbw. Moka and Anand anchored down to see the opening bowlers away but West Indian Captain Kaneel looking for a break through brought in the experience and spin of Welder which payed dividends immediately, as Welder had Moka stumped. Anand followed soon afterwards, then the duo of Tony and Shazam took over and built up a match winning partnership where Tony contributed with a fine knock of 47 and Shazam contributed with 45 hitting glorious shots all over the park. Shanon contributed with 24 not out and Riverside posted a solid total of 175 for 5 in 40 overs.
West Indian innings started with disaster under Nishi bowled down Campbell for a duck on his second ball. But then Dixon joined Dennis and the two made short work of Riverside bowling of course they were helped by some dropped catches. But then an unfortunate incident happened, Dennis drove a ball hard and Dixon was unable to get out of the way in time and took a bloody hit to the side of his head. He had to leave and be taken to the hospital for X-ray and stitches. Good news is that Dixon is doing well. But next Taj took a marvelous catch in the deep to get rid of Dennis and celebrated in typical funnboy style. The tigers who were basically looking limp suddenly got it together with some fine bowling and fielding to bowl out West Indian Social Cricket Club for 143 in 36 overs. Bowling honors were
- Vishi - 8-0-33-3
- Nishi - 7-0-22-2
- Raj - 7.3-0-28-2

Riverside batsmen were looking good but some poor shot selection and some questionable umpiring decisions saw Riverside in a spot of bother at 50 for 4 but veterans Shanan and Moka started the rebuilding phase by batting cautiously and nudged onto 80 without any further loss of wickets when the match was called off due to persistent rain. Shanan was not out at 20 and Moka was not out at 12.
